About Me

I'm a pianist, composer and producer from Erlangen, Germany.

I grew up with the music of SNES, N64 and early Windows games, music from TV shows and movies and anything that happened to be available on cassette or CD or playing on the radio in my childhood home.

We had a piano and I used to try to play everything I liked by ear until I had figured out the chords and melody.

The music I soaked in during my childhood and teenage years is the reservoir I draw from when I'm composing now.

I played a lot of different music through the years, but I eventually figured out that my greatest passion is music that supports a visual narrative. I have fond memories of video games with great soundtracks like the Zelda and Mario games, the Donkey Kong games on SNES, the Lucas Arts games on PC and douzends more.

For a lot of these games the soundtrack is the thing I remember the most of the experience. I also deeply enjoyed music from TV shows and movies, especially the scores of Ennio Morricone, John Williams, Henry Mancini and Angelo Badalamenti.

The way each of them build up a symbiotic collaboration with a specific director who gave them the space to bring an additional dimension to the film will always be a great inspiration for me.

I want to make music for film and video games, because I feel that something has been lost during the last decades.

The composers of video game music were much more limited in the tools they had to work with, but they still managed to make soundtracks that were memorable and bold and stayed with you forever if you played the games as a kid.

The big video game and movie producers seem not to have the courage anymore to allow for soundtracks that are more personal and off mainstream, although there are obviously notable exceptions.

My goal is to compose music that I enjoy and that follows the tradition of strong melodic and memorable themes.

I'm open for commissions and collaborations.

Depending on the size of the project and the work it involves, payment is negotiable.

An average reference is ~75$ per minute of mixed and mastered music.

If I really enjoy the idea of a project, I might work for a lot less or even for free if I can get a promotional value out of it.
